Book Nadine Woods to Speak

expert insights on women's health, fashion sustainability, and social entrepreneurship.

It's time to break taboos around women's health. Meet Nadine Woods.

I created Mayana not just to make beautiful, functional intimates—but to spark critical conversations. My mission is to pull back the curtain on how fashion, capitalism, and cultural narratives have shaped (and harmed) women’s health, identity, and liberation.

Rooted in anti-racism and body literacy, my work is about more than products—it's about truth-telling. From the male gaze to postpartum healing, from invisible labor to the politics of what we wear, I bring together big ideas to help people see the world (and themselves) differently.

Whether I’m speaking in a classroom, at a panel, or with a small community, my gift lies in connecting dots and creating “aha” moments that are collaborative and rooted in shared humanity.

Mayana is a space for those conversations—the ones we were taught to whisper or hide. Because we deserve better. And because collective liberation starts with truth, care, and using our voices—even when it shakes the room.

Let’s Bust the Stigma—Together

I speak on a wide range of topics at the intersections of fashion, health, and justice, including:

  • Slow Fashion & Made in Canada
  • Fashion & Anti-Racism
  • Decolonizing Fashion & Feminism
  • Breastfeeding Stigma & Nursing Justice
  • Menopause & Breast Health
  • Body Image & Capitalism
  • Undergarments & Women's Health
  • Endometriosis Awareness
  • Racial Capitalism

We’re building a movement, one that values people, sustainability, and community as an equal metric to profit. A movement that is addressing the root cause of a lot of issues that we can no longer avoid like human rights violations and climate catastrophes in the name of consumption. In a world that’s always pushing for more—more stuff, more speed, more things—it’s time to slow down and choose different.

Women's Bodies & Capitalism

A thought-provoking exploration of how women’s bodies have been shaped, commodified, and exploited within the frameworks of capitalism. Through the lens of Nadine’s lived experiences and sharp insights, this keynote unpacks the intersections of media representation, the body positivity movement, and consumer culture. This is a call to action—a movement to reclaim agency, challenge systemic norms, and celebrate the resilience of women’s bodies in all their forms.

"I had no idea how many lives, histories, and nations go into making one beautiful piece of clothing. Nadine decolonizes fashion. She uses great examples to show you the damage of oppression.  You’ll never put on a piece of clothing again without thinking about the world. With grace and wisdom, Nadine, challenges her audience to understand their responsibilities as consumers. Clothes are intimate.  They hold your body, touch your skin.  Nadine shows you how to respect the people who make them."
